Our Main Street 4-Point Model Plan

Celebrate Greater Plymouth envisions working to enhance, promote and preserve the vitality and economic viability of Plymouth County town centers and neighborhoods by working with town/city government, nonprofits, businesses, residents and visitors. Being a member of the Main Street America, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, we make every effort to implement the concepts and values of the national Main Street 4-point model plan: Design, Organization, Promotion & Economic Vitality.
DESIGN
We work in conjunction with town planners, for opportunities to enhance our town centers unique character through beautification projects. These projects may consist of flowers, trees, signage, benches, awnings or more detailed characteristics with facade renovations, mini parks and public art.
ORGANIZATION
We build collaborative partnerships between a broad range of town officials, groups, organizations, businesses and donors in our community’s beautification projects or tourism promotion goals. Unlike other organizations, we don’t have members — only board of directors, committee chairs, sponsors, liaisons, ambassadors and volunteers.
PROMOTION
We market town/city downtown or village centers to residents, investors, visitors and others. Featured events are concerts, sidewalk musicians, art and photo promotions, awareness and local authors signing opportunities, festivals, contests, public art and much more.
ECONOMIC VITALITY
We create and promote innovative community programs to foster resident participation. These programs are designed to support town government and businesses to achieve goals and desires for future beautification activities. The long-term goal is to retain current businesses, attract new permanent businesses and potential pop-up shops, thus enhancing the economic vitality of the community and nurturing employment growth.
